Abstract

The graphic representation taken from a computer may be of a pattern, a scheme, a lay-out or statistical data, and the appts. comprises a data plotter loadable with a photographic film, with a holder for a printer which may be controlled by the electrical signals. The printer has components which are capable of directing a narrow light beam towards the photographic film. A further component controls the light beam being switched on and off dependent upon signals produced as the result of or which are used for control of the movement of the holder to and from the film. The component incorporates a shutter controlled by the electrical signals. The printer components include an optical fibre locating against the film with one end. The other end of the fibre is connected to a light source in the form of a lamp and reflector in a closed box. The reflector focuses the light towards the end of the fibre inserted into the box.
