Abstract

The folding cardboard box has a casing with a longitudinal joint and top and bottom closures where the longitudinal joint is an abutting edge joint (19). It has an extension which is not parallel to the side edges of the folding box but which runs along a substantial length of the total folding box length. The joint is covered by a strip attached to the box, for example, heat sealed. - The joint is a discontinuous line and extends up the edge flaps (18a, 18a', 18b, 18b') and up the whole free cutting edge of the flaps. A flexible sealing membrane is attached to the top and bottom flaps and is arranged to cover the folding box cross section.
