Abstract

Plastic valve bags, the filling valve of which is arranged on one side of the bag, are all stacked with the same orientation in the empty state, in such a way that their filling valve is located at the bottom in the stack. For attachment onto a filling connection, the stacked bags are grasped individually by means of a set of suction bodies which are arranged in a row and which are laid onto the top side of the bag in the region of the centre line of the valve and parallel to this. The bag is subsequently lifted by means of the suction bodies, and the suction bodies are pivoted so that the side of the bag located at the bottom in the stack becomes accessible from the side. A second set of suction bodies arranged in a row is laid onto this side. The bag grasped between the two suction-body sets and additionally held by means of the clamping effect of the suction-body sets pressed against one another is transported to the filling connection. Immediately before attachment onto the filling connection at the latest, the two suction-body sets are moved away from one another, so that the valve of the bag opens.
