Abstract

The system comprises a central exchange arranged for communication with an external telephone network. A number of base stations and number of mobile telephone units are included. Each base station has an associated cell area and each base station in one hand is arranged for communication with the central exchange and on the other hand has a number of radio channels for radio communications with mobile telephones located in the associated cell area. The base stations each have a local exchange with a dialling function. - The local exchange is arranged for communication with the external telephone network. The base station is arranged in response to a request for a call set-up received on a radio channel of the base station cell area, for establishing a call by calling up the external telephone network via the local exchange.
