Abstract

The application mechanism comprises first and second press-on units (3,4) for fixation of each cover (2) fed to an application position on each package successively fed on a conveyor. The first press-on unit incorporates a press unit (36) and a power unit (39) which in the application position pushes the press unit forward against a limited position of the cover edge part, firmly snap-engaging it on to the package. - The second press-on unit in a subsequent stage finally presses the cover into position by pressing its edge part against the whole aperture edge part of the package.
