Abstract

The space between the underside (11) of the each beam is filled completely with concrete to form a sole plate (13) extending under the beam to support it along its complete length. The specially formed beam (1) used has at least one filling aperture (16) which, via channels in the beam, is connected with at least one exit aperture in the beam underside. On casting the sole plate (13), concrete is fed inwards through the filling apertures (16) so that it then flows outwards through the exit apertures in the beam underside.
