Abstract

Machine for producing pad-like absorbent inserts for sanitary towels, baby's napkins, bandages and the like, consisting of a drum having a plurality of depressions which are arranged in the drum casing and are open towards the circumferential surface and which are connected to a vacuum source via channels, and of a device, located opposite the drum casing, for supplying fibres, fibre flocks and the like to form the pads, in which machine the depressions (13) in the drum casing (11) or in its drum-casing segments (12) are subdivided into a plurality of zones (14, 15), and all the channels (17, 18) opening into the depression (13) in the region of a zone are connected via a common [lacuna] to a vacuum line (20) containing a regulating and control valve. <IMAGE>
