Abstract

The joint is for use between pipes (1) with internal lining (4) and external collars (2). A sleeve (6) enclosing the pipe ends is welded between the collars, a gap being left between it and the pipes to prevent heat transfer to the lining during the welding operation. - The lining at the pipe ends bears against the inside of the sleeve, while the collars guide the sleeve ends into position and are mounted on pipes before the lining is placed in position.(4)
