Abstract

The present invention relates to a valve arrangement (1) for opening and closing a medium passage, comprising valve seats (3,8) and a curved or arched valve plate (4) arranged for movement towards and away from the valve seats. The valve arrangement is intended for use in a channel or duct (2,2a, 2b), of large cross-sectional area, preferably a flue-gas duct. The valve plate (4) is rotatably mounted on a rotational shaft (5,5'), and extending around the valve plate are one or more sealing elements (7), for example one or more sealing strips. In a first rotational position of the valve plate (4) the sealing elements, or at least one of the sealing elements, are arranged to abut a first valve seat (3), and to abut a second valve seat (8) in a second rotational position of the valve plate. A convex side (4b) of the valve plate (4) is arranged to face the medium passage in one of the aforesaid rotational positions of the valve plate, while a concave side (4a) of the valve plate is arranged to face the medium passage in a further one of the rotational positions of the plate.
