Abstract

The firing target with electronic shot-position determination has at least three acoustic transducers (6) which are arranged at a distance from one another underneath the firing disc (1). The acoustic transducers (6) are used as measurement sensors for the signals which are produced or reflected by a projectile (8). The shot position (S) is determined using two measured propagation-time differences between the propagation times of the signals to the individual measurement sensors (6). The target disc (3) is part of an externally screened sound box (5) in which the transducers (6) are located in direct sound connection with the points at which the shot passes through the front wall of the sound box (5), which is constructed as a target disc (3). The front outer surface, facing the person firing, of the target disc (3) is furthermore constructed to be sound-reflecting with respect to ultrasound, and/or the target disc (3) is constructed to be sound-absorbent. This ensures that any disturbing side effects are precluded, so that the firing target is functionally reliable. Only that sound wave which propagates at the moment directly after the tip of the projectile has penetrated the target disc (3) reaches the measurement transducers (6) and causes the determination of the shot position (S).
