Abstract
A sealed lead acid storage cell comprises (a) a gas and liq. impervious container; (b) at least one positive electrode assembly (20) comprising two spaced apart porous electrodes (22,24) electrically connected in parallel, with foraminous material bodies (44) between them providing an electrolyte reservoir; (c) porous negative electrodes (14,16) alternating with the positive electrode assemblies; (d) porous absorbant separators (28,30) between adjacent surfaces of positive and negative electrodes; and (e) an electrolyte absorbed in the pores of positive and negative electrodes, separators and foraminous material bodies, which have combined pore vols. greater than the electrolyte vol.
