Abstract
It has the general formula (I), where R1 and R2 independently are hydrogen, hydroxy or lower alkoxy groups with 1-6 carbon atoms esp. methoxy. Diester is hydrolysed in the presence of a hydrolase enzyme. In particular dimethyl enter of malonic acid with the general formula (II), where R1, R2 are as above. The enzymic hydrolysis is carried out in a mixture of solvents which include water and up to 50 vol. % dimethylsulphoxides.
