Abstract

An air filter for an I.C. engine intake comprises a curved pleated filter element 2 permanently sealed into a disposable housing 4, 5, having inlet (5) and outlet(s) (9). The housing is initially made in two parts, of metal or plastic, which are joined together to enclose element 2, along a line 6. Alternatively the housing parts may be joined together along line 6', thereby sealing them to the periphery of the filter element at the same time, or the housing parts may be separately sealed to the said periphery so that it is exposed to form part of the housing. <IMAGE>
