Abstract

A connection device of plug-in type comprises two connectors (1, 2) mounted side by side in a retainer (3). The connectors are mechanically interlocked with each other so that a circuit connected to the first connector (1) is always opened after or closed before a circuit connected to the second connector (2). Interlocking is achieved through a locking device mounted on the removable connector component, e.g. in the form of two rotatably mounted lock plates (41, 42). The locking device is designed in such a way that each of the removable connector components (12, 22) is plugged into the corresponding fixed connector component (11, 21), engages with the retainer (3) and is locked in this position by the removable connector component (22) of the other connector.<IMAGE>
