Abstract

The conductor, as a tractive load element, works in conjunction with a think flexible, non-metallic reinforcement fibre with high tractive strength and a low tendency to break on bending. A polyphyl electrical conductor is used, and the reinforcement, fibre is plaited, entwined with, or stitched to the conductor. The points of plaiting, stitching or entwinement are at several locations, viewed in the cross-section through the wire, the locations being evenly distributed over the cross-section. - The conductor used is of copper, whilst the reinforcement fibre is of an organic material based on boron or boron combinations, e.g. that marketed under the name Kevlar (RTM). The joined conductor and reinforcement fibre are applied to a flexible, insulated, windtight carrier, pref. of polyvinylchloride, which is thin and flexible and having a heat-reflecting layer on one side.
