Abstract

In a device for manually breaking an ampoule (13) for medicaments and other liquid substances, which has a line of weakening (14) between the ampoule shoulder and a widened neck portion (12), an elastically deformable tube or hood (1H) is provided. This tube or hood encircles at least the neck (11) of the ampoule in the region of the line of weakening (14). For this purpose, the tube or hood (1H) is formed with a sealing member (4A, 8) which engages with locking on the thickest portion (12) of the neck (11) of the ampoule. The tube or hood is furthermore provided with at least one blowing-out opening (between 9, 10) for glass dust emanating from the point of breakage of the ampoule. <IMAGE>
