Abstract
It has been scientifically proven, that nitric oxides in gas mixtures can be completely reduced to pure nitrogen through contact with coal at a high temperature, on the condition that the gas mixture does not contain free oxygen. The invention offers a two-step process for the destruction of nitric oxides in exhaust gases after the combustion processes, where in the first-stage oxygen remnants are bound by means of burning coal or another substance requiring oxygen, and in the second step nitric oxides are reduced to pure nitrogen through uniting new additives and those carbon monoxides created in the first step. The reactions complete process is controlled in a catalysed bed of metal oxides or metals, which are placed there after the combustion chamber in the second step.<IMAGE>
