Abstract
Salt bath for sudden cooling of structural components which have been treated in carburising, quenching and nitriding salt baths optionally containing cyanide, at different concentration, and in a gaseous medium, characterised in that it contains 80 to 99.5 % of hydroxides and 0.5 to 20 % of carbonates of alkali metals and in that it can be used universally for all heat treatment processes to be carried out in the temperature range from 180 to 650 DEG C.
