Abstract
The position detector of the invention which is intended to determine the positional data of interactions of an ionising radiation with a detection medium of the detector comprises a medium 10 having at least one parameter which varies from one position to another inside this medium, and which generates signal pulses whose values are a function of the parameter, and pulse-value discriminators 13 for determining the position of the interactions of the medium with particles; the detection medium may constitute a scintillator whose parameters vary with the chemical or physical state of the medium. <IMAGE>
