Abstract

Two lateral sections of an additional 'pulpit' gunwale are articulated to an ordinary gunwale. Both funwales are rotatable around a pref. common axis running transverse to the longitudinal direction of the boat. - The additional gunwale can be lowered from a first position, in which it fulfills its normal role, to a second position where it forms a support or bumper outside the hull of the craft.
