Abstract
An aeration element of porous material is described for feeding air or oxygen in the form of small bubbles into the waste water of biological purification plants or natural waters, in which, despite high specific air throughput and despite the division of the air into very fine bubbles, blockage of the pores is avoided with low in-house effort by the porous material having a felt structure composed of fibres.
