Abstract

A procedure for the removal of heavy pollutants from a fibre suspension, which is to be conveyed to a consumer (22), such as a paper machine, with a varying demand for a volume (24) of fibre suspension, is characterised by the fact that consumption levels influence capacity on a feeder pump (15) for a hydro-cyclone separator (16), where the pollutants are separated from the fibre suspension, and by the fact that the hydro-cyclone separator (16) is, in a conventional way, furnished with a unit deployed in its separation chambers which has the task of giving the flow of pollutants, as well as the fibre which is flowing down into the separation chambers, a radially directed movement component.<IMAGE>
