Abstract
The invention relates to a method to determine the amount of solid fraction of a Ferro-magnetic material in a liquid, comprising the circulation of a pre-determined volume of the liquid that is to be analysed using magnetised filter filling material and the measurement the amount of solid fraction of the material in the liquid between the discharge of liquid from the filling material and the induction into the filling material and continuing the circulation until a stable level has been reached for the remaining amount of solid fraction, which indicates the original amount of solid fraction and periodically subjecting it to a pre-determined speed of filtration by the filling material circulating the liquid for an attenuated magnetic alternating field outside of the magnetised filling material in order to de-magnetise any particles of the solid fraction of the material remaining in the liquid. The circulation is carried out for different portions of the liquid using identical volumes and identical compositions, which are analysed by altering the speed of filtration, whereby the proportions of the liquid are exchanged until a stable remaining amount of the solid fraction the material in the liquid is achieved irrespective of the speed of filtration. The speed of filtration should be between 0.03 and 0.07 m/s.<IMAGE>
