Abstract
The system is for growing root crops, partic. potatoes, in a number of layers one above the other. After the plant has grown up for a set amount, a fresh layer of earth is placed on it, the process then being repeated. Harvesting takes place from the bottom as soon as the tubers are ripe, the remainder continuing to grow until harvested. Square stackable frames are used, enclosing the layers of earth at the sides. The frames are of sufficient capacity for a seed to grow into a plant and to accommodate a layer of earth.
