Abstract

The accumulator battery has a cylindrical casing. This contains another casing and a pole piece; these are able to move axially within the cylindrical casing. The pole piece is connected to several electrode plates of the same polarity. To prevent the battery cover from lifting by axial movement of the second casing, there is an 'O' ring. This is placed between the ledge on the pole piece and the lower end surface of the casing. This casing also has a ring flange whose underside bears upon another ledge of the pole piece.
