Abstract

A piece of furniture involving a frame (1) with a swingable seat (2) attached to it, and a back rest (4) attached to the seat; a first engaging unit (6) for the swinging of the seat relative to the frame and a second engaging unit (9) for the swinging of the back rest. A first gear stick (19) is arranged to allow power transfer to the first engaging unit (6) only when the back rest (4) is in its maximum backswing position. A second gear stick (20) is arranged only to allow power transfer to the second engaging unit (9) when the seat (2) is in its maximum lower swing position.<IMAGE>
