Abstract

A urine-emptying valve includes a valve housing 1 in which a piston 6 is pressed, with spring force, against the mouth of an inlet channel 3. In the closed position, the piston abuts the mouth in a sealing manner such that a relatively small part of its end surface 7 is exposed to the pressure in the inlet channel. When the pressure increases above a certain limit, the piston is pressed downwards, the whole of the end surface 7 is exposed to the pressure and the valve is opened for emptying urine via an outlet channel 5. The valve housing is equipped with members 13, 14, 16, 17 for equalising the pressure in the outlet channel. The device provides the patient with bladder training, with a deterioration in the fitness of the urinary bladder when using a catheter being prevented. <IMAGE>
