Abstract

In a septic apparatus, or corresponding appliance, there is an extended component (20), which can be connected to an exit in a unit in the apparatus. The extended component is designed to receive water, or watery liquid, from the unit, and has a number of exit recesses (2,3,4) arranged along its length for the water or liquid to run out of. The extended component's lower part is shaped to form an extended groove (7), from which layers of slime (12) in the water or liquid can be collected. Extraction from at least several recesses is designed to counteract rapid passage of the water, or liquid, through the exit, so as to prevent washing away of the layers of slime, and any possible bacteria therein, from the groove and/or the exit's edge (2b) or edges (2a, 2b).<IMAGE>
