Abstract
A method for separating a mixture of a fiber suspension and light impurities into an accept fraction of fibers and a reject fraction, containing the major part of the light impurities and some fibers, comprises separating the mixture in a hydrocyclone separator. The characteristic feature of the method is that the separation is carried out in a separation chamber provided with at least one guide bar formed in such a way that the light impurities, flowing in a helical path along the wall of the separation chamber, are given a radially inward component of movement.
