Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an SCR bulb capable of protecting an SCR against ignitions at the time of applying a surge by connecting in series with each other suppressing means for suppressing a current rising rate at each SCR. CONSTITUTION:A reactor 6 is connected in series with each SCR1 connected in parallel with voltage dividing means having a voltage dividing capacitor 3 and a voltage dividing resistor 4, thereby forming suppressing means for suppressing the breakdown of the SCR due to excessive ON current rising rate. A series unit of this reactor 6 and the SCR1 is connected in parallel between both terminals of each arrester 2. In this manner, the SCR bulb can be operated against excessive ON current rising rate stress.
