Abstract

The phase compensating system comprises several capacitor units forming together a battery which is encapsulated. The capacitors are fitted in a frame, and have electrical connections to the frame central part. Also included are a switch module containing coupling components for switching the capacitor battery on and off, and an inductor module which damps current surges when the capacitor battery is connected. All modules in the system are encapsulated and of such dimensions that they can be readily assembled together. A rail module is provided for connection to an AC mains, and to the other modules. Several rail modules can be positioned widthwise next to each other, and connected electrically. Where more than one module is used, each is supported by or supports another module in the equipment.
