Abstract

Tablet for long term use contains calcium phosphate for preventing release of tooth's own calcium phosphate. A surface active component gives the surface of the tooth a hydrophobic character. A low level of weak organic acid is also present. The tablet can contain, e.g. approx 88% sorbitol, 4% malic aicd, 2% citric acid, 4% sodium citrate, 2% Ca3(PO4)2 and 1% surface active component, e.g. magnesium stearate. The compsn. is balanced so that when the tablet is in 4 ml of saliva, its pH does not exceed 4. Each tablet weights at least 400 mg. (Provisional Basic previously advised in Week 8406).
