Abstract

A dot matrix printer of the impact type has dot printing elements (1) which have thin sheets or plates and are coated so as to be capable of sliding with respect to one another in the direction of their width. With the dot matrix printer, the simple addition of dot printing elements is made possible. In addition, the reduction in the size and the weight of the dot matrix printing unit and the improvement in the fatigue strength is made possible.
