Abstract
The state of a flowmeter used in an installation is determined and, where necessary, its function is corrected, partic. where the meter causes a pressure drop in the medium being handled. The flowmeter's characteristics, i.e. the relation between pressure drop and flow is determined prior to its installation. During operation the pressure drop over the meter is evaluated, and the provided flow is measured. The relationship thus established is compared with that determined prior to the meter's installation. If there is a discrepancy, the meter is corrected. A pipe conduit part (1) is used in which the flowmeter (2) is installed. On each side of the meter is a connecting component (4,5) for determining the pressure drop in the conduit (1).
