Abstract

A device which is intended to prevent hot water from flowing in through an outlet (4) of the radiator in a turned-off central heating radiator of a so-called single-pipe system, which would risk turnoff, has an inlet (2), which is connected to the system, and outlet (5). In this case, the outlet is partly connected to the inlet through a bypass duct (6), and partly connected to the outlet (4) of the radiator. The device serves firstly effectively to prevent hot water flowing in the radiator through the outlet thereof, and secondly to permit economic production of the connecting piece (1) of the radiator. According to the invention this is achieved in that the outlet has an extension formed as a vertical, cylindrical duct (7) and having an upper end which is located at a higher level than that of the radiator outlet. Pushed into the duct as a loose insert is a flow guide (11) which splits the duct into two parallel flow passages (13, 14) which are longitudinally aligned in the duct and are connected to one another at the upper end of a duct. The lower ends of the flow passages are connected to the inlet and outlet, respectively, of the radiator. <IMAGE>
