Abstract

The invention relates to a process for the preparation of 1-isopropylamino-3-[4-(2-methoxyethyl]-phenoxy]-2- propanol with the formula <IMAGE> by reacting 1-isopropylamino-3-[4-(1-hydroxy-2- methoxyethyl)-phenoxy]-2-propanol with sodium borohydride in an inert solvent containing trifluoroacetic acid, methane sulphonic acid or p-toluene sulphonic acid.
