Abstract

The invention concerns a rear view mirror which can be switched between daytime and nighttime positions. The mirror has a housing 1, which is hinged to a fastening arm 6. The arm extends upward through an opening in an upper housing wall and is designed to be fastened in the roof of the vehicle by means of a ball joint 7. A snap- spring mechanism 8 arranged in the housing stresses the housing towards either of said positions from a middle position. The switching occurs in that the housing is grasped and twisted relative to the arm. <IMAGE>
