Abstract

The invention concerns a planting spit for mechanical planting which has a planting device that can be forced into the ground with an internal holding position for a plant, which planting device can open to release a plant in the holding position. With this type of planting spit, the release of the plant from the holding position must occur very quickly and at precisely the right moment or else the plant will not sit properly in the hole or will be leaning to the side. This is the problem which is solved by arranging of elements 19 which subject the plant 25 in the holding position to a downward force which prevents the plant 25 from changing its height position relative to the planting device 2 when it opens up. <IMAGE>
