Abstract

An aerodynamic deflector (20) for a cab roof (18) of a tractor (10) for articulated container trailers (12) which is hinged to the front edge of the roof and supported at the rear by pivoted telescopic support stays (30, 32) on opposite sides, the stays being adjustable in length to vary the inclination of the defector (20) relative to the cab roof (18). The inclination of the deflector is varied according to the amount by which a container (16) projects above the level of the cab roof, thereby reducing the aerodynamic resistance of the vehicle. The deflector (20) can be fully lowered when the vehicle is unladen. <IMAGE>
