Abstract
1507859 Wired television systems OAK HOLLAND BV 24 Dec 1975 [24 Dec 1974] 52836/75 Heading H4R In a radio and television distribution system wherein a programme line 1 carries the programmes as a high frequency multiplex each subscribers drop line 2 is connected to the programme line 1 via a high frequency switch 5 which is operated via a code receiver 3 and logic 4 from a central distribution point. Such an arrangement is used to deny a subscriber access to all the programmes on the line. In addition means may be provided for denying access, on a selective basis, to up to four programmes by the use of four oscillators 9, the outputs of which can be selectively coupled to subscribers drop lines under the control of the code receiver 3 to jam reception of a particular programme by a particular subscriber. A switch comprising diodes, capacitors and resistors for use as the switch 5 is illustrated in Figure 3a not shown. In a second embodiment the switches coupling in the jamming signals are arranged in series in the drop line (Figure 5, not shown), each switch comprising a T filter including a varicap controlled by an A.C. power source in the cross branch of the filter (Figure 6, not shown).
