Abstract

The present invention relates to the field of electrodes for lithium-ion batteries comprising a polymer binder obtained by polymerization of lignin or modified lignin, a cross-linker and a polyol. The present invention relates to an electrode comprising a current collector and a layer, wherein the layer comprises an active material, a conductive additive and a binder, wherein the binder is obtained by polymerization of a polyol, a cross-linker comprising at least two carboxylic acid groups, and lignin. Additionally, it relates to a slurry comprising a polyol, a cross-linker comprising at least two carboxylic acid groups, lignin, a conductive additive, an active material, and optionally a solvent. Additionally, the present invention relates to a method for producing an electrode.
