Abstract
The invention relates to an air terminal device (1) for a ventilation system for a building. The air terminal device (1) comprises a pressure box (2a), a recirculating air inlet (4), a ventilation air outlet (6) and a supply air inlet (8) . The pressure box (2a) is provided with nozzles (3) for admitting air into a mixing chamber (2b). The recirculating air inlet (4) is designed for admitting recirculating air into a recirculating air chamber (2c). The ventilation air outlet (6) is designed for providing a flow of mixed supply air and recirculated air to a space to be ventilated. The flow of supply air induces a recirculating air flow and said recirculated air flow and supply air flow is mixed in the mixing chamber (2b). The mixed air will be admitted to the space to be ventilated via the ventilation air outlet (6). The air terminal device (1) forms part of a foundation structure or socle (101) of a cabinet (102). The invention also relates to a cabinet (101) comprising a socle (102) provided with an air terminal device (1) as described above.
Claims (12)
- Claims cabinet comprising a socle provided with an air terminal device (1) for a ventilation system, e.g. a Heating and Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) system, for a building, said air terminal device (1) having an upper side (10), a lower side (30) and one or several interconnecting sides (20, 40, 50a, 50b) connecting the upper and lower sides and comprising a pressure box (2a), a recirculating air inlet (4) and a ventilation air outlet (6), said air terminal device (1) further comprising a supply air inlet (8) designed for admitting a supply air flow from a ventilation air duct system into the pressure box (2a), said pressure box (2a) provided with one or several nozzles (3) for admitting air from the pressure box (2a) into a mixing chamber (2b) in the air terminal device (1), said recirculating air inlet (4) designed for admitting a recirculating air flow from a space to be ventilated into a recirculating air chamber (2c) in the air terminal device and said ventilation air outlet (6) designed for providing a mixed flow of supply air and recirculated air to the space to be ventilated, said air terminal device (1) further designed such that the flow of supply air into the mixing chamber (2b) from the pressure box (2a) induces the recirculating air flow which is guided to the mixing chamber (2b) from the recirculating air chamber (2c) whereby said recirculated air flow and supply air flow is mixed in the mixing chamber (2b) to be admitted to the space to be ventilated via said ventilation air outlet (6) characterized in that said air terminal device (1) forms part of the socle (101) of a~_š¿šj;_
- A cabinet according to claim 1 characterized in that the air terminal device (1) comprises a temperature regulating coil (5) for conditioning air flowing through the air terminal device (1 ).
- A cabinet according to claim 2 characterized in that the recirculating air chamber (2c) and the mixing air chamber (2b) are separated by the temperature regulating coil (5) whereby recirculating air is withdrawn from the recirculating air chamber (2c) via said temperature regulating coil (5) to be mixed with the supply air in the mixing chamber (2b).
- 4. A cabinet according to any previous claim characterized in that the air terminal device (1) comprises an upper wall covering an upper side (10) provided with a releasable access panel (11).
- 5. A cabinet according to any previous claim characterized in that the air terminal device (1) comprises a removable, air permeable front panel (20') covering the recirculating air inlet (4) and/or the ventilation air outlet (6) in the front side (20).
- 6. A cabinet according to claim 5 dependent on claim 2 characterized in thatthe air temperature regulating coil (5) comprises a manual control valve (9) located close to the front panel (20') to be accessed via said front panel (20').
- 7. A cabinet according to claim 2 or any previous claim dependent on claim 2 characterized in that the air temperature regulating coil (5) comprises a manual control valve (9) provided with an air temperature sensor in the recirculating air chamber (2c).
- 8. A cabinet according to any previous claim characterized in that said supply air inlet (8) is provided in a bottom panel (30) of the pressure box
- 9. A cabinet (-1-G-1~-_f࿧;}§;) according to any previous claim characterized in that it comprises a non-pervious partition wall (5") located between the recirculating air chamber (2c) and the mixing chamber (2b) at the portion of the air terminal device (1) at the recirculating air inlet (4) and ventilation air outlet (6).
- 10.A cabinet (lleí-šllfíj* according to any previous claim characterized in that said cabinet (-1~G-1--_1§;g.¿§_) is mounted adjacent a wall (202) and said recirculating air inlet (4) is facing away from said wall
- 11.A cabinet according to claim Åjgšwcharacterized in that said ventilation air outlet (6) is facing away from said wall__§_:;§°“'§¿f¿.
- 12. A cabinet according to any previous claims characterized in that said ventilation air outlet (6) is designed to provide a flow along the floor (201) while said recirculating air inlet (4) is designed to provide an intake of air from above the floor (201 ).
