Abstract

The present invention pertains to a retractable leash for rolling up and unrolling a leash (1), especially for leading an animal, with a roller (2), which is mounted rotatably on a carrier (9) and can be reset by means of resetting means into a rolledup position, in which the leash (1) is wound up onto the roller (2), with blocking means for blocking the unrolling of the leash (1) from the roller (2), and having a length control system for limiting the maximum extendable length of the leash (1) while simultaneously maintaining the retractability of the leash (1).
