Abstract

A thermal management system (1) for a vehicle (20) is disclosed which is arranged for managing thermal loads of a battery (3) comprised in the vehicle (20). The system (1) comprises a heater (5) arranged to heat the battery (3) and a radiator (7). The system (1) further comprises a battery coolant circuit (11) arranged in thermal communication with the battery (3), the radiator (7) and the heater (5). The battery coolant circuit (11) comprises a bypass line (13) arranged to allow coolant flowing in the battery coolant circuit (11) to bypass the radiator (7). The system (1) further comprises a control arrangement (15) configured to reduce the usage of the heater (5) when the battery (3) requires heating and a temperature of air exceeds a first threshold, while allowing at least a part of the coolant in the battery coolant circuit (11) to flow through the radiator (7).
