Abstract

A curtain arrangement has an upper strip (11) that supports the curtain (12) and has at least two guides (17, 17; 20, 20) positioned at a distance from each other for at least two lifting lines (15, 16). The upper strip has an exit guide (19) for the lines that form draw lines. The lifting lines pass over the rear surface of the curtain. Alternative guides are available such that the lines can be relocated to exit on the front surface of the curtain and can be coupled such that the curtain becomes a roll-up curtain instead of a lift curtain.

Description of the exemplary embodiment shown Figures 1-5 show an elevator curtain with a top strip 11 intended to be fastened to wall brackets (not shown). The skirting board can be made of wood and have the H-profile shown. The curtain 12 itself, i.e. normally the curtain fabric, is attached to the skirting board; it is shown folded around a small fastening strip 13 which is fixed with clearance in the upper strip. 17 in the top strip of the channel or track 18 formed in the H-profile of the top strip.

The ropes 15,16 extend therefrom along the channel 18 to an output control in the form of a conventional self-locking unit 19 which is operated with the output ropes 15,16 to lock or release the ropes. The holes 17 and 20 thus constitute alternative guides for the ropes. Instead of the self-locking unit 19, one can have a simple guide in the form of a drilled hole and then have a button on the wall to lock the ropes.

Figure 4 shows in the magnification loop 21 woven into the curtain fabric 12 and the rope 15 extends through this loop. The linoma 15,16 extends through a number of such loops and when pulling the linoma in the parts located outside the unit 19 - the traction parts of the linoma - the lower strip 14 will be lifted and when the lower strip reaches loops through which the linoma runs so that the curtain fabric folds. The elevator curtain shown and described above can easily be changed to a roll-up curtain shown in Figures 7-11 by a simple retraction of the ropes 15,16. The attachment of the liners to the baseboard 14 is then loosened and the liners are run through the holes 20 to the front of the curtain instead of through the holes 17 leading to the back of the curtain. The ends of the ropes are then attached to the top strip behind the curtain fabric attachment as shown in Figure 10. The ropes 15,16 are now placed in loops around the curtain fabric and the bottom strip. The ropes should still be pulled in the groove 18 and out through the unit 19. When the ropes are then pulled out through the unit 19, the curtain fabric will be rolled up on the lower strip shown in Figure 9. In this case, the ropes 15,16 should not run through the loops 21.

The curtain described can, for example, be sold with the lines connected to form an elevator curtain and the end customer can, with the help of a brief instruction, switch the lines himself if he instead wants a roll-up curtain. The sides of the curtain with the part of the curtain that is outside the unit 20 can be sawn and cut off if the curtain material is such that it can be cut without fringing. In that case, the customer can adjust the width of the curtain to the current window.
