Abstract

Anti-theft device for a compact disc, computer disc or the like which is enclosed in a rectangular paper board slip cover having two flat sides and four narrow sides, comprising a rectangular frame which can be applied to the slip cover enclosing said cover and which has two flat sides and four narrow sides (10-13) one narrow side thereof being open for passage of the slip cover with the compact disc therein, and has a lock means (29) for preventing the slip cover and the frame applied to the cover being separated, the frame having an element for co-operation with an electronic alarm system. A flap (21) forms a portion of one flat side of the frame and extends between two opposite narrow sides (10, 12) of the frame along and adjacent the open narrow side (13) of the frame. At one end thereof the flap is connected with the frame while the flap at the other end thereof can be locked to the frame by means of the lock means (29). When the flap is locked it blocks the open narrow side (13) so that the slip cover and the frame cannot be separated. With the lock means in release position the flap can be swung out from said one flat side of the frame uncovering the open narrow side to allow passage of the slip cover when the frame is applied to and withdrawn from the slip cover.
