Abstract

At least two V-shaped bow frames (2, 3) made of relatively stiff material have their ends bent around the tread surface of the tyre (1) from one side of the tyre to the other. Fasteners (4, 5) are used to tighten the bow frames against the sides of the tyre. Replaceable components made of relatively stiff but elastically resilient material are mounted in the bow frame ends to allow the device to adapt to different tyre widths.
