Abstract

The present invention concerns a beam for scaffolding or the like, which beam consists of a tube 1 with securing arrangements 2, 3 at both ends. The beam is intended to be secured in vertical spars. The tube forming the beam has been shaped at both ends over a tool so as to give a tear-drop cross section. This shaping of the tube ends gives the beam a torque-absorbing stiffening at each securing area, which means that greater loads can be taken up than would be the case if the tube ends were not shaped (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
