Abstract

The rotor is of dynamo plate or other conductive material, and the stator poles are of material with similar magnetic properties, each pole being enclosed by a concentric magnetising winding. There is an even number of stator poles, equal to the number of rotor poles, and the rotor pole width is approx. half the distribution of the stator poles. The stator poles have tracks with even or uneven distribution. A three-phase system is only obtained with connected windings which have track stages approx. the same as the pole distribution, and in a twin-poled generator with even slot distribution, the number of slots per pole is two, as is the number of windings. A symmetrical three-phase system is obtained where the adjacent outputs (B1,B2) of the two windings in the one stator pole are joined to the output (R) of the three-phase system. The second and third outputs (S,T) of the system comprise the adjacent winding ends (S1,S2) of the other pole.
