Abstract

The invention is a suit that is specially designed as a yawl sailing suit.The suit helps to reduce or eliminate the disadvantages of such types of suits when yawl sailing, where one usually sits in a crouched position.The suit (1) is a wet suit that is adapted to the shape of the sailor's body when sitting bent over, for example with the upper body leaning over the edge (2) of a boat. This has been accomplished by the area of the back being given increased width, for example by the back section having slits or being longer, rounder, etc.; the suit having floating aids, such as floats incorporated in the suit or being formed by a cushion in the area of the back; and by reinforcement in the form of plates or the like being borne by the suit (1) in vulnerable places, especially where the sailor's calves and the backs of his/her thighs lie against the boat edge (2), and distributing the pressure from the boat edge (2) thereby preventing pain or the obstruction of blood flow.<IMAGE>
